I'm starting a small real estate photography business and need to form an LLC. Has anyone used Swyft Filings? They seem affordable, but I want to make sure they're legit for a service-based business like mine. Any red flags?

I used Swyft for my consulting LLC last year. No complaints. Filing was fast and the dashboa rd is easy. But I'm not in real estate photography, so can't speak to that specifically.

Legit? Yes. They're just a filing service though. You still have to handle your own business licenses and permits, which for real estate photography might include drone permits if you use one.

Good to know about the drone permits. I do use a drone occasionally. Does Swyft offer any guidance on that or is it all on you

All on you. They just do the LLC paperwork. But honestly, for a small photography biz, you might not need any special licenses beyond a general business license. Check your city though.

I looked into Swyft but but ended up going with a local attorney. Cost more but helped with an operating agreement. If you're solo, Swyft's probably fine. Just don't skip the operating agreement even if it's boilerplate.

Swyft's upsells can be annoying. They'll try to sell you registered agent service, but you can be your own in many states. Just read cadefully.

Agree on the upsells. I skipped the registered agent and just use my address. But if you don't want your home address public, then you might need it.

Thanks all. I think I'll go with Swyft but decline the extras. My home address is already public as a photographer, so no big deal.

I've been using Swyft for two years for my real estate photography LLC. No issues. Just make sure you file your annual report on time. They send reminders but it's yuor responsibility.

One more thing: if you're planning to hire contractors (like second shooters), make sure your operating agreement covers that. Swyft's basic one might not. Might be worth a quick consult with a lawyer to review it.
