Got my annual report reminder for my LLC (Wyoming). The form is asking for my principal office address and mailing address again. I'm almost certain I provided these when I filed the articles of organization last year. Is this just a standard thing they do every year, or did something get lost? Also, does the principal office have to be in Wyoming? I run the business from my apartment in Colorado.
My LLC annual report asks for information I thought was already on file
They ask every year. It's not that they lost it, it's that they want to confirm it's still current. You'd be surprised how many people move and forget to update.
Principal office can be anywher, but your registered agent address has to be in Wyoming. That's the one they actually care about for legal service.
It's a money grab. They make you re-flie the same info so they can charge the annual fee. Total scam.
Wait, you have to pay a fee to file the annual report? I thought Wyoming was cheap.
It's like $60 or something. Not free, but not terrible compared to some states.
Also if you don't file it, they'll dissolve your LLC. So maybe not a scam, just bureaucracy.
Still a scam. But yeah, pay it.
I just log in to the state portal and update the address if needed. Takes two minutes. The form pre-fills last year's info so you just hit submit.
Good to know. I'm filing mine next month. Do they mail you a reminder or do you have to remmber?
They usually send an email if you have one on file. But don't rely on it.
Thanks, all. I'll just fill it out again and make sure the registered agent is correct. Appreciate the help.
