I've been using Northwest for a couple years now and I want to make sure I understand every single fee that hits my card annually. I know the main registered agent fee is $125, but are there any other recurring charges like for the business address or mail forwarding? Their site is a bit vague on what's included versus what costs extra. Any current users have a clear breakdown?
I want to know exactly what Northwest Registered Agent charges every year
I use them for two LLCs. The yearly $125 per entity is the only thing I'm charged automatically. I don't use their mail forwarding, so can't speak to that.
what spruce_goat said. The $125 is for the registered agent service only. If you want their business address as your official address for the state, that's included in the RA service. But mail forwarding is a separate service with its own annual fee. I think it starts around $49/year for the basic package, but it depends on volume. You'd have to check your account or ask them.
Thanks, that helps. So the $125 is for the agent and the address, but not forwarding. I'll look at my last invoice. I don't recall being charged for forwarding but I might have opted out at signup.
Also watch out for the annual report fees your state charges. Northwest will remind you but that's not their fee. I made that mistake my first year thinki ng it was part of the $125.
plains_hawk is right. Northwest's $125 is just their service. The state annual report is separate and varies. But if you signed up for their mail forwarding, that's the only other Northwest charge I've seen. It's not automatic, you have to add it.
I called them last month about this. For mail forwarding, the basic plan is $49/year if you get less than 10 pieces a month, annd $99 for up to 30. They said it's a separate subscription. So it's not part of the $125 unless you add it.
Good info. I'll dig out my renewal notice to see if I'm on any forwarding plan. Appreciate the help.
Just to add, I've been with them for five years and have never seen any surprise fees. The $125 is consistent. But I don't use any add-ons, so can't comment on those.
